Newark College Institute 

Founded in 2012, the mission of the Newark College Institute is to prepare college-going Newark residents to meet the demand for highly educated professional employees by providing the participants with real world professional and personal development skills and exposure to various career opportunities and industry leaders. The NCI provides mentors for college freshmen and seniors, paid summer internships, a support network for parents, and pathways to full-time employment upon graduation from college. The NCI Freshman Institute, commencing in the summer following high school graduation, is the entry point for participants. Any Newark resident entering freshman year at an accredited 2- or 4-year college or university is eligible to participate in the Freshman Institute. There are more than 600 Newark residents in the NCI network. Of these, over 450 NCI participants are currently enrolled in 50+ colleges and universities nation-wide.
