Study Abroad

Rutgers has Jersey roots with a global reach, and our sustainability efforts do too.

Whether it is for a week, a summer, or a semester, students can make a sustainable difference around the world through study abroad and service learning programs.

Rutgers Global offers study abroad and service learning programs related to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

For programs with an environmental sustainability focus, students can check out the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. SEBS affiliated programs may count towards SEBS major requirements.

Study abroad opportunities should be accessible to all students, regardless of major or ability to pay.

With planning and advice, students of any major can study abroad. Students should work with a Study Abroad Advisor from Rutgers Global and an advisor from their major department to ensure that credits taken abroad will transfer, and that they can graduate on time.

Students can also apply for scholarships to help make study abroad experiences affordable.

Many academic departments have their own study abroad pages where students can find school specific advising and scholarship opportunities.
